T Levels are designed to provide learners with the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed to progress into skilled employment or further study. They combine core knowledge and skills needed to work in your chosen industry sector with a technical qualification, and a substantial work placement equivalent to 3 A Levels.

This challenging and exciting course allows you to study a number of core units in the first year, including.
– Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND)
– Supporting education
– Safeguarding, health and safety, and wellbeing
– English as an Additional Language (EAL)
– Child development

As well as the core units, you will complete an employer-set project to complement the theory and practical aspects of the qualification.

You will then study ‘Teaching’ as your occupational specialism in Year 2, where you will get the opportunity to build your knowledge and skills alongside demonstrating your competence in a work environment.

An essential component of this qualification is the substantial work placement in a relevant setting – a minimum of 315 hours. This is completed in conjunction with your theory assessments and will ensure that at the end of the course, you will have the skills needed by employers in this sector or the qualifications to enable you to progress on to university.

If you want a career working within the education sector, for example in teaching, this would be the course for you.

T Levels combine classroom theory, practical learning and a minimum 315-hour industry placement with an employer to make sure you have real experience of the workplace. The Technical Qualification (TQ) is the main classroom-based element of the T Level and will see you learn from a curriculum that has been shaped by industry experts. T Level courses have been developed in collaboration with employers and businesses so that the content will meet the needs of industry and prepare you for work. They provide the knowledge and experience needed to open the door to highly skilled employment, an apprenticeship or higher-level study, including university.

This is a two-year programme. The first year incorporates the core component – covering the core knowledge topics that underpin each career route available for the sector, and the second year focuses on the occupational specialism (Design, Surveying and Planning) that will allow you to enter skilled employment within a specific occupation.

The core component provides a broad understanding of the construction industry and covers the following construction-related topics:
– Construction principles
– Construction design
– Tendering and estimating
– Health and safety in construction
– Construction technology
– Projects in construction
– Surveying in construction
– Graphical detailing
– Building regulations
– Law
– Commercial business
– Science
– Sustainability
– Construction maths

During your second year, you will study Surveying and Design for Construction and the Built Environment as your Occupational Specialism.
– Measuring the built environment
– Analysing the built environment
– Designing the built environment
– Verifying the delivery of the built environment
– Surveying (digital surveying and plotting to a CAD program such as Revit or AutoCAD)

You will be required to undertake a 315-hour (minimum) industry placement. We can support you with your placement or you can source your own if relevant to your course.

This Technical Qualification has been developed in consultation with employers in the construction industry to ensure you learn the skills and behaviours that will give you the best opportunity to be successful when applying for work. As part of this qualification, you will also enhance your broader skills in literacy and numeracy, which will be invaluable in supporting progression in other areas. In addition, you will develop transferable technical and practical skills in communication (working with colleagues, customers and clients), research and project work, providing you with an opportunity to demonstrate your reflective practice by suggesting alternative approaches to a problem.

The construction industry is of global importance and worth £90 billion annually in the UK. The impact that the construction industry has on daily life is diverse, from domestic building, maintenance and the provision of key building services, to large projects in civil engineering, providing essential public infrastructure in the form of roads, schools and hospitals. All careers in construction require good communication skills, time management, a strong customer focus and the ability to work both in teams and with other trades. The skills learned for craft trades lead not only to a rewarding career but can also be used as a foundation from which to progress to advanced craft, technician, supervisory or management occupations, where established professional development routes and occupational standards exist.

Want to go to university? Want a change of career? Or want a new challenge?
No A Levels? No problem! It is never too late to study for a degree even if you have no qualifications at all. Or you may already have some qualifications at GCSE, NVQ or BTEC but not enough to get into university. Many adults return to education to improve their career opportunities and achieve their personal goals. Access to Higher Education Diplomas enable mature students to apply for a degree programme in only one year, full-time. So if you have a career path in mind which requires a degree and you thought you could never do it – think again.

Our Access Diplomas also cater for students who have been away from studying for some time. The course will equip you with the skills, knowledge and confidence to achieve your goals, as well as provide support and encouragement throughout the year.

To succeed, you’ll need to be aged 19 or over, motivated, enthusiastic, able to manage your time effectively and be ready to study. You will be part of a group of adult students who are excited about learning and are willing to participate and work hard with other members of the group.

Many people worry that they’re too old to do an Access course or will feel out of place – in fact, there’s no upper age limit and there will be many other mature students on this course – just like you. All you need is to be committed to studying and focused on your career choice.

During the course, you will study the following subjects:
– English Literature
– Psychology
– Sociology
– Study Skills

You will also have dedicated tutorial sessions, where you will receive support throughout your year of study including guidance and support for your UCAS application to university.

Are you passionate about pursuing a career in the creative media industry?

This Creative Media course could set you on the pathway to a dream job in filmmaking, photography, editing, social media, content creation, podcasting, branding, animation, video game design, graphics design, VFX or interactive media! In year one, you will study the Level 3 Diploma in Creative Media Production & Technology, and in year two you will study the Level 3 Extended Diploma in Creative Media Production & Technology.

During the course, you will enhance your technical expertise through hands-on workshops with industry-standard equipment and technology, and gain insights into the creative thinking and production process by completing multiple production projects and live briefs. As you progress through the course you will identify the ideal pathway for progressing into university, employment, or an apprenticeship.

Internal work experience will allow you to gain hands-on knowledge of what it’s like to work in the field and apply the skills developed throughout the course in a collaborative and practical setting. Past internal work experience has involved on-location film production with zombie and murder mystery-themed short films being produced, directed and filmed entirely by students. Branding and marketing campaigns were also produced in conjunction with the short films for those whose primary focus was graphic design and social media content creation.

The units on this qualification have been developed to provide you with the flexibility to either explore multiple practical disciplines or develop and focus on one discipline throughout the entire two years.

During the course you will study the following units:
– Introduction to media processes and technical skills
– Introduction to design and research skills in creative media production
– Introduction to professional practice in creative media production
– Critical and contextual awareness
– Investigating audio production and technology
– Investigating visual production and technology
– Investigating interactive media production and technology
– Developing a creative media production project

These units will be merged into projects where live briefs will be given and deadlines set. These projects aim to simulate industry, providing you with a range of knowledge and skills required to complete a project from start (ideation, research, proposal, evaluation, planning) to finish (product creation and critical evaluation).

At the end of each year, there is a final, summative project (developing a creative media production project), which will be an extended project of work that you choose to pursue based on your interests and skills. You can choose from a wide range of project outcomes, including producing a short film, documentary, influencer-type video, posters, website, game art, fashion and editorial photography, short animation etc. The list is nearly endless. You can choose to collaborate with other students if the project is suitable, but please be aware that you will need to document roles thoroughly.

The programme is delivered by a team of experienced and approachable lecturers who have a wealth of industry knowledge and expertise.

Politics is an exciting A Level that explores relationships between governments, people and ideas, and will enable you to understand, analyse and react to a dynamic global system.

Over two years, the course looks at four main areas. The first two deal with the nature of UK governance, the construction of the state, and the interaction between these institutions and the political traditions of Britain. As you progress through the course you can look forward to relating this knowledge to other political systems around the world including the United States. Finally, you will be given the opportunity to study the ‘isms of the world including liberalism, socialism, conservatism and Nationalism.

This course is aimed at anyone who is looking to work in and/or study governance, political systems and the ideas that drive our world.

Politics links incredibly well with subjects such as history, law, sociology and economics because the learning in one supports achievement in the other. For example, history and geography all require an understanding of political ideas, and likewise, it is easier to grasp economic concepts when you understand the political ideas/actions that impact them.
